Prof. Dr. Mugdim Pašić
Mugdim Pašić is a professor at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the University of Sarajevo and Head of Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty Sarajevo. Prof. Pašić has been teaching courses in the field of statistics, data analysis and quality management, operations management, economics and organization of enterprises, human resources management, business decision making, optimization of industrial processes, project management and management of small and medium size enterprises. He received B. Sc. degree from the University of Sarajevo his M.Sc. from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), USA, and Dr.Sc. degree from the University of Sarajevo. As a student he was awarded by the University of Sarajevo with three Silver University Medals, and Gold University Medal and he received “Teodor Gregoric” special award from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty as well. Prof. Pašić is holder of “Certificate as a “Certified Trainer for the Civil Servants With the Practical Experience” issued by the project “European Union Support to the Common Institutions of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina”. He was teaching MBA courses at the joint MBA programs of three USA universities: University of Delaware, Henderson State University and Texas A&M University with domestic universities in the field of statistical methods, data analysis and quality management, operations management, business research and business reporting, trends in management and applied business research. He developed and delivered numerous training courses, workshops, seminars, and executive programs for bussineses and international and domestic organizations. He is business consultant for many companies. He published numerous scientific papers as well as worked on many domestic and international scientific and research projects. As co-author with prof. dr. William Gehrlein from the University of Delaware, prof. Pašić published a breakthrough scientific paper “Centroid – A Widely Misunderstood Concept In Facility Location Problem”. Prof. Pašić and Prof. Gehrlein proved that a widely used Centroid method is a widely misunderstood method in facility location problems and that it is, in fact, normally an inappropriate method to use for such problems.
